People: First Class: Helen Loraine Allison

Helen Horaine Allison, daughter of Hudson Joshua Allison and Bess Allison, was born on June 5, 1909 in Westmount, Quebec. He had one brother, Trevor, whom was two years younger than she.

The entire Allison family went to England during 1912. While in England they had baby Trevor baptized in London and bought two dozen horses in Scotland. They also picked up some furniture and hired some household staff members. The Allison's changed their travel arrangements at the last minute to travel on the Titanic with some friends.

The Allison's boarded the Titanic in Southampton with ticket number 113781. They occupied cabins C-22,24 and 26. Hudson and Bess in one cabin, Helen Loraine and her maid in the second and Trevor and his maid in the third.

When the Titanic struck the iceberg, Alice Cleaver immediately took Trevor Allison up to the boat deck and left with him on Lifeboat 11. The Allison's were not aware that Alice had taken baby Trevor off of the ailing ship and they refused to leave until they knew he was safe. All of the remaining Allison's died on the Titanic.

Helen Loraine was the only First Class child to perish in the disaster. Her body was never recovered.
